Let's Save The Planet

Going Green , we have all heard the phrase but is it possible ? yes , however , its going to take years before we can get to that place before we can call the world a green planet. There are plenty of alternative energy resources out there that can not only benefit humans but our environment as well. With petroleum based fuels running out quickly , its only logical to find new energy sources that are clean , efficient , renewable and most importantly not harmful to the environment. Solar energy is probably the most common type of alternative energy resource you hear about today , and that's for good reason , solar energy is one of the most powerful , cheap and efficient ways of harnessing clean new energy , through solar panels the suns rays are harnessed and directly transferred to powering homes , cars and even cities. Another low cost option is wind energy , wind farms have now been present in Europe and account for much of their energy usage , wind farms are now taking their place in the world. The newest discovery and perhaps the most powerful is that of algae bio fuels , energy harvested from algae. The technology however is new , on the upside it can be used to make diesel , gasoline and jet fuel. Going green isn't so much a ideology as it is a reality these days , however it is up to us to take charge and stand up. Alternative energy resources will bring new jobs and increase revenue , thus stimulating the worlds economy. The force behind the movement is growing , we just need to keep pushing , the road to a green future wont be easy or be short , but when we arrive to our dream destination , it will be better for us and for the earth.

Dear Gardener,
Imagine you knew a secret about growing plants in a break-through new way... to the outside world your organic garden or farm would seem almost "magic", Why? Because people almost never see you working in it!

What's more... your plants grow twice as fast, and you can grow up to ten times more of them in the same area of space as your neighbors do. That means, if you're growing lettuce, and have 10 square feet of space... your method grows as much lettuce as someone would with 100 square feet of space!

"Break-Through in Organic Plant Nutrition Leads To Shocking Results... "
In the past several years, researchers from the University of the Virgin Islands have discovered and experimented with a break-through new way of growing plants organically .
The process is revolutionary because with it your plants grow 100% to 50% faster, and you can grow up to TEN times the plants in the same amount of space. How does it work? Basically, it turns normal gardening on organic super-drive as it feeds rich ALIVE natural nutrients to your plants 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
In 2006-2007, the 'secret' slowly started to leak out and people started catching on... converting gardens and entire commercial farms to the system.

My personal experience

When I was starting to notice the creeping cost of produce at the grocery store I started to look at the local farmers markets. However, I knew this was going to be just as expensive, but would give me fresher produce which means it would last longer. The problem I had was I wanted to have fresh produce for a lower cost in the middle of winter. The only solution I found was to use an aquaponics system, which would lead to me growing more produce then what I ever imagined possible.

Time Spent With The System

When you have a regular garden, you will find you spend a lot of time outside with the dirt, which is a good thing, but it can become tedious during the rain and impossible in winter. With the Aquaponics system, I ended up having to just spend some time getting the starter system set up. Then I just had to monitor the water levels and even the chemicals which were present. However, this would just take a few hours each day and did not even involve any weeding.

Amount Of Produce I Picked

Typically when you have an aquaponics system, you are in complete control over everything that is going into the system. Since you have complete control, you are going to get organic produce, but you are not going to have to be concerned about the cost of this produce. Instead, you will typically end up harvesting so much produce you are going to end up giving away a lot of produce or even selling the items.

When I seen the price of produce creeping up, I knew I had to do something. The one thing I did was to start using an aquaponics system. When I started to use this system, I was able to grow my own produce, but also grew enough produce in the middle of winter I could sell at the farmers markets in my area making some extra income.
